We spent the week of July 4th in Keystone with our neighbors. We rented a townhouse. It was crazy with 4 adults and 4 kids, but turned out to be such a great time that we decided to stay an extra night. The weather was great and there was so much for the kiddos to do.
We hiked, took walks to the river, went into the village where they had a whole kids area set up, ate the best pizza I have had since moving to Colorado, took the gondola to the top of the mountain, ate like crap, drank far too much, Meghan and I went to the spa and the guys golfed.
The kids area they had set up in the village was fantastic. Gwen went on this bungee trampoline thing and flew high into the air. I was shocked that she wasn't scared at all. There was a sandbox that Leo loved and one of the days they had donkey rides. The playgrounds were great for the kids to burn off some energy.
The fresh air led to fantastic naps for Leo and great sleeping for me. We even got to celebrate Mike's birthday with some really gross cake. Unfortunately there were no fireworks due to the fires, but we made do. We watched them on TV. Not the same, but safety first!! The trip was amazing and something I would love to do each year. It was nice to get away from the heat of Denver and enjoy the beautiful mountains with great company and amazing family.
