Gwen. It's like that little girl turned a corner. She has fewer melt downs, she's so loving and always wants "one last kiss" or "one last hug". She picks out her clothes for school the night before so "we don't fight". She is getting more and more beautiful by the day and is so freaking smart. She has NO business not going to Kindergarten this fall. She does tend to torture her brother a lot, but even that is starting to subside. I think it may be the instant time-out if she does. She is doing amazing at swimming. Mike came home once and said "It's official, she's a better swimmer than you". She can swim across the little pool. They teach her the crawl and the backstroke. It's amazing what she has learned in 5 short months. She has 2 smiles that she shows all the time and loves having "cocktails" with her mommy. I am in awe of what an amazing little girl she is.
Leo. His zest for life is unbelievable. I keep saying that his enthusiasm is contagious. He gets so excited to play outside, to read books, to brush his teeth, to get his Prevacid...etc. The list goes on and on. He is so happy 95% of the time. He's always smiling and he squeals a lot too. His laugh melts my heart. He is also almost 2 so he has these crazy meltdowns over nothing. He'll say "banana". I get him a banana. He then flips out and I am not sure why. Oh yeah, he's almost 2. He reminds me of a minion, so I think he has seen Despicable Me too many times. He's talking a ton more and daycare told us that his language is above the other kids in his class. I kind of feel bad for those other kids since I don't understand half of what he is saying :-) As Gwen says "he's so cute".
Mike. He has started his job with Facebook. When he came back from his orientation in San Francisco I saw a spark in him that I hadn't seen in years. He seems so excited for his new opportunity and it shows in his daily life. I am so lucky to have a house husband that brings in a nice salary. He does so much around the house and for me and the kids. I appreciate him more than he knows! He is gearing up to play a lot of golf this summer and I am looking forward to the alone time with the kiddos.
Courtney. I have been running a lot in preparation for the Boiler Maker this July. I have a love/hate relationship with running. I love the alone time, the challenge, and the positive change in my body, but I hate how bored I get while running. Work is going great. I have taken on a Marketing opportunity where I will be launching protocols in Canada. I feel I have my groove back at work just in time to drop back to 32 hours!! I am really looking forward to the nice weather and now that it is here I feel happier. I think the snow through May really killed my mood!
We have a great summer planned. We'll be going to the mountains a few times and heading to NY for my race and a little camping. I am looking forward to having my Fridays back for me!! Leo is now old enough that he can play in the backyard without us watching his every move so I look forward to relaxing with friends and a cocktail all while watching the smiles on my children's faces as they play. Not too shabby of a life I have to say!
On a different note, Bill was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer. Since he does not want sympathy (he says sympathy falls between shit and syphilis in the dictionary) he won't be getting any from us. Instead we will be his biggest cheerleaders and support system as he kicks cancer's ass!! We love you Bill aka. Papa J!!
