Happy BIRTHday Leo!!

As mentioned in my last post I was scheduled to be induced at 7:20 am.  Well our baby had other ideas and wanted to be born on HIS terms.  Leo Michael Jurbala was born at 3:48 am.  He weighed in at 7 lbs 10 oz and was 20 inches long.  He has a full head of dark hair and is absolutely perfect. 

The labor was short and sweet.  I felt contractions all day after my 39 week doctor's appointment.  I finally sat down, around 9:30 pm,  long enough to start tracking them.   They were about 1 min long and 4-5 minutes apart so I called my doctor and they had me go to the hospital:

10:30 pm:  Arrived at the hospital at 5 cm dilated
12:00 am:  Received epidural
12:15 am:  Doctor broke my water
2:00 am:  7 cm dilated
2:50 am:  8 cm dilated
3:15 am: 9 cm dilated
3:30 am:  10 cm dilated
3:38 am:  Started pushing
3:48 am:  Leo was born!!

I was lucky enough to have both Mike and my mom in the room with me.  They kept me laughing, watching Card Sharks at 2:00 am and them freezing to death in the room (Mike had a make-shift snuggy), which kept my mind off the constant shaking that I experienced from laboring so fast.  Not only that, but watching them experience the birth of our little boy, made my heart so happy.
