Gwen's Birthday
Gwen had her 3rd birthday party at Monkey Bizness. All the kiddos (15 of her closest friends) ran around and had a blast. The got to play for an hour, could get their face painted, and then went and had a healthy snack of cheesy poofs, popcorn, lollipops, cake, and Kool Aid. We handed out flashlights as a party favor (I figured since I don't like the cheesy gift bags, other moms probably don't like them either). It was fun when we turned the lights out and all the kids had their flashlights on. My favorite part of the whole day was watching Gwen get so excited as her friends arrived one by one. I loved watching her interract with them and how much fun they all had together. It was a great day. Enjoy some pictures..............

HAPPY 3RD BIRTHDAY BABY GIRL!!
Happy 3rd Birthday Baby Girl! It feels like yesterday that I was just writing your 2nd birthday letter. My mom (your grandmother) said to me the other day "doesn't it just fly by" and her babies are 36 and 33. Yes it does, and that scares me.
I said in the past 2 birthday letters that the day you were born was "hands down" the best day of my life. I always wondered that if a sibling came, would those words still hold true. I can honestly answer yes. It may sound harsh to Leo, but the truth is, you taught me what it is to be a mother. You taught me that there is no purer or truer love, than the love of your child. I was never one to like children or even think that I would have my own, but you changed all that. You paved the way for me to build this amazing family that I am truly blessed with. For that, I will be forever grateful.
Now on to the past year. I do have to say (once again with love in my heart) that I hate age 3, or the past few months leading up to it. It has introduced us to this very defiant and bratty child. I think introducing a baby brother didn't help the situation but lately things have improved significantly, so hopefully was just a phase (wishful thinking).
What supersedes all of that naughtiness though is how amazing and loving you are. There is nothing like seeing those big, beautiful, brown eyes fill up with excitement when you see me. There is nothing like the big hugs and kisses you give me. Most of all, there is nothing like the words "I love you mama" which you do not use sparingly.
In the past year I have seen you learn and accomplish so much. I could sit here and write a list, but in the grand scheme of things that is not what is most important. What is important is "who" you have become. You are polite and very loving to your friends/family. You are incredibly smart and beautiful. You have this energy (lots and lots of energy) and aura about you. You light up the room the moment you enter it. You have become our own little person who I am so proud of. It fills me with excitement to think of you in the next year and what you will accomplish. I just hope I don't blink, and find myself writing your 4 year birthday letter...........
I love you so much. Three years ago today, was hands down, the best day of my life. Happy Birthday my sweet angel.
Love,
Mama

Flower Girl
Gwen was a flower girl in Emily & Tom's wedding. The wedding was in Charlottesville Virginia. Mike took Gwen alone, as it would have been a tough trip if we brought Leo (doesn't sleep through the night plus it was a short trip). From what I understand she was a loose cannon the entire time and would get quite bratty. Luckily she is adorable otherwise I am thinking Mike may have left her there (haha not really).
Huge congratulations to Emily and Tom. Enjoy some pictures from their big day!
::Tears::
Yesterday Gwen went to Pre-School half day. Today I started crying in the baking isle while I was picking out the cake I am going to make for her 3rd birthday. How is my baby going to be 3 next week????

3 Year and 2 Month Doctor's Appointments
Yesterday Mike and I took the kiddos to the doctors. Gwen had her 3 year appointment and Leo had his 2 month appointment. I have to say that I am so glad Mike came because it would have been impossible to do it alone. I am also very relieved at how efficient the pediatrician's office was, we even got 2 nurses, one for each child.
Gwen is doing great. She is 36.5" tall (3 feet) which is in the 50th percentile and her weight is 32 lbs which is in the 60th percentile. Pretty much she is average. She got her first eye exam and it was so funny. They had shapes she had to identify. Well this one shape was supposed to be a cow, but I don't think she thought it looked like a cow. When the nurse would say "What is this", she replied "It kinda looks like a cow". Made everyone laugh. We were also unsuccessful with her peeing in a cup. Do they really think a 3 year old could pee in a cup??? She got 2 shots. She cried so hard and said "I don't like shots, they hurt". Very observant. They had her in her undies in a paper gown. It was too cute. All in all she did great. She was a little wild and very talkative, but did what she was supposed to. I am wondering if the promise of M&M's helped with that.
Leo is gigantic. He 24.25" tall (90%), weights 13 lbs 11 oz (90%) and his head is in the 90th percentile. He had 5 shots. One would think he would nap all day or it would make him sleepy.......nope, he is against sleep.
I honestly have no idea how I am going to function when I go back to work in 2 weeks. I figure since Leo still eats every 3 hours, even at night, I will average 5 hours of sleep, in two 2.5 hour shifts. I will then have to work a 9 hour day, spend 1 hour in the car commuting, make dinner, put kids to bed.....etc. I honestly don't want to waste my weekends running errands and doing laundry, but with my limited time during the week, that may end up being my life. I better start a schedule sooner rather than later because I barely have time to shower now and I am not gone 10+ hours a day.
