I took Gwen into Party City a few weeks ago to pick out her birthday balloons. Party City was decorated for Halloween and Gwen was terrified. So I hustled her back to the princess section. I then had to carry her up to the front to look at the balloons. Next to the balloons was this cemetery scene with a scary mask. Gwen was laser focused on it. I kept telling her to look at the balloons. I took a step and a monster jumped out at her. Next up.....a blood curdling scream from Gwen. It echoed through the store. I grabbed her and rushed her out. Since then Gwen is afraid of everything Halloween. Needless to say, I am extremely excited to have Halloween over and have her sleeping again. She also even commented that now she can go into stores again and not be scared. What a chicken (just like me).
Anyway, our kiddos were of course adorable for Halloween. Gwen was Repunzel (of course) and Leo was a dragon. We went trick-or-treating with the neighbors (Meghan, Jeff, Aiden, and Andrew). Leo didn't last the whole time, but did manage to shovel in lots of chocolate. Gwen kept saying that she wasn't scared but after a house where the man answered in a hockey mask she informed us that "she will never go to that house again".
