Just a quick update:
Leo has been struggling with a bit of reflux. He seriously spits up more than any human should. I may start wearing a garbage bag or plastic rain pancho whenever I am around him. It's really gross. The poor guy does get pretty fussy in the evenings and we can tell he chokes on acid in the mornings. We are on our 2nd medication and he slept a straight 5 hours last night which is very rare as he barely makes it 2 hours at times. We can't feel too bad for him though because he is already 13 lbs. He is putting on 2 oz a day where most kids put on 1 oz. He is a HOUSE!! Even with all of his issues he does smile and "talk" all the time. My favorite time of day is when he and I have our talks. It makes my heart so happy.
I received some advice to start giving Gwen "positive attention" to help with her brattiness. So I hunkered down and became that annoying/peppy/positive mother. I praise her for everything she does well and am very specific with my praise. Believe it or not............IT WORKS!! I don't have to bribe her or beg, I just make sure I am present with her and pay attention. The only issue I am finding is that I want to kick my own ass for being that annoying mom :-) Gwen has been great since I started doing this. I even got a compliment on how well behaved she is. It makes life so much easier. I am going to make sure I get one on one time with her at least a few hours a week. I've done it twice in the past week and my heart melts at her smile. I realized how much I have missed her. I didn't get much time with her when I was pregnant and miserable or when I first had Leo, so it is so great to have my baby back!!
I am doing well. I have been struggling with the cold from hell mixed with allergies. I have seriously had a sore throat for a month. I am working on taking care of myself and exercising again. I am down 2.5 lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight, so am really close to my "settling ideal weight". I doubt I'll hit my ideal weight, but I am more concerned about toning up. My butt and belly have a lot to be desired. Breastfeeding is still going really well. I am getting nervous about pumping at work, but will try as hard as I can to get it to work. I head to NY next week and when I come back I am going to try and pretend that it is a work week and try to prep myself. We'll see if it works.
Mike is still great. He is anxiously anticipating his 4 week paternity leave. I would give anything to trade spots with him and get another 4 weeks.
That's all for now. Lots going on so I am hoping to be better about updating once I sit at a computer all day again ::cries in sadness::
