Happy Turkey (Trot) Day!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!  We had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with good food (thanks to Mike), good spirits, and wonderful friends.

The day started off with Gwen doing her first Turkey Trot 5K.  She ran around like a lunatic prior to the race even starting.  I knew this would hinder us breaking 50 minutes as she would be exhausted.  I was wrong........well sort of.  She got exhausted 3 minutes in and we walked a lot.  We were able to break 50 minutes (barely) thanks to my Drill Sargent effort and the kids music I had playing out of my iPod.  Leo was so excited to see us finish.  He can't wait to run with us someday.

We had such a great time though.  I am really proud of my little girl!!  We will for sure be doing more races in the future.

Bitter Cold

We have been experiencing bitter cold this week.  I'm talking highs don't even get to 10 and lows are below zero.  I think we are being punished for the AMAZING fall we had.  It was quite the slap of reality that's for sure.

The kids were excited to drink hot cocoa.  Technically they don't drink it.  I think they really want to like it, but don't.

As parents of the year.  Leo had an accident at school.  All we had in his cubby was Boston Celtic basketball shorts.  It was 17 degrees and Leo walked around in those shorts and his camo boots.  He was living a thug's life!!

Fall Fun!

I feel like the fall has gotten away from us.  I can't really say we did anything exciting and after the rough 2014 we had, I am okay with boring.......Mom is cancer free!!!  Bill is cancer free!!  Mike has a job!!!  I can't complain that's for sure!!!  We've spent a lot of time with friends, watched Leo play soccer, enjoyed the wins given to us by the Broncos and Horned Frogs, and had fun as a family.   We will ride this wave through the holiday season and into 2015!!!

Happy Halloween!

We decided to dress up as a family this year. I did learn that you are not supposed to cross over DC Comics with Marvel.  We all survived that catastrophe!  We had fun and can see this being a tradition for years to come.

We surprised the kids by showing up at their KinderCare Party dressed up.  Leo was so happy and excited.  He wouldn't stop staring at me.  We then went trick or treating and partied at a friends house.  I think Halloween should be on a Friday every year!

Happy Birthday Gwendolyn!!

It's official.  My little girl is 6 and boy is she already becoming independent.  She even re-branded herself to "Gwendolyn" at school.  I feel that I am a broken record whenever I speak of how amazing Gwen is.  She's so smart and funny. She's beautiful, kind, a total kiss ass at school, and an amazing big sister.  Leo is very lucky to have her as a big sister and Mike and I are so lucky she is our daughter.  I truly believe good things will come from her in her life.  She does and will make such a positive impact on the world and I will have to ride her coat tails!!!  Happy Birthday Gwen.   I love you!

For her birthday party she chose to have her 4 BFFs sleep over.........Addie, Emalee, Morgann, and Lily. I threw a "movie" party where the girls got a stuffie and snacks.  They watched Sleeping Beauty.  I made a purple and white zebra cake.  I am very proud as to how it came out.  I do have to say that the biggest surprise of the party was how crazy the kids were.  There was just so much yelling and running around.  I will though never get tired of a house full of laughter and smiles.  They all slept really well and had a great time.

On her actual birthday we all had the day off from work/school.  We had breakfast at McDonalds and then went and saw Box Trolls.  After dinner we went for Frozen Yogurt.  I even brought a candle so we could sing. It was quite the weekend for her.  Hopefully I get a whole weekend for my birthday too!!

Thank Heaven for Little Boys..........

.....that are cute!

Leo the Soccer Star

Leo is started soccer.  His team's name is the Ninja Red Dragons.  Guess that is what you get when you have a bunch of 3-4 year old boys name the team.  Their clothes are too big. They fall down all the time.  They run towards the wrong goal.  It may be the cutest thing ever.  Leo has no fear.  He's not afraid to get in the crowd and go for the ball.  I am proud of my little man especially since he is one of the the youngest and smallest.
