Gwen's New Bike

We got Gwen a new bike for her birthday.   For months she has been telling us that she wants a new pink bike.  What did we get her?  A new pink bike.  Was she all that excited?  No.  I think it is because we went the pedal-less bike route instead of one with pedals & training wheels.  She may be a little scared.

Anyway, the only way we could get her to ride it was when I asked Leo if he wanted to ride it.  Of course that means she just HAD to.

Happy Birthday Gwen! Part 2

After Gwen's big princess party we went out to dinner at her favorite pizza place where she had even more cake.  It was fun being able to share her birthday with my parents.

Happy Birthday Gwen! PART 1

I threw Gwen a kick ass birthday party if I do say so myself.   It was a princess themed party where the kiddos came dressed up.  I invited all her good friends Samantha, Aiden, Tiny Meghan, Kayla, Sabryna, Nico, Cal, and Owen (most of the boys came dressed as super heroes).  At one point Gwen was sobbing because everyone was dressed like a super hero but her.  Luckily some princesses came to her rescue!!

I had princess cupcakes, a princess pinata, and had Rapunzel come to the house as a surprise to Gwen.  She was mesmerized.  It was like true royalty had come visit her.  She stood roughly 1 foot from her the entire time (and that is being generous) and asked a million questions (my favorite being "Do you live with Eugene?").   It was the best 30 minutes of Gwen's life and by far the best $165 I have spent for 30 minutes!!!

Rapunzel sang songs, read stories, gave the kiddos glittery stamps, and helped sing Happy Birthday to Gwen.  I was worried about how sad Gwen would be when she left, but she only cried briefly to Mike.  I am guessing she wasted all of her tears being before/during the party........(she's been spoiled for over a week by the grandparents and has taken brat to the next level)

Where's Leo?

My parents are in town so we braved the cold to see Air Force play Navy in football.  It was cold, but we all had a great time.

While you enjoy the below pictures, please play "Where's Leo?" in last family picture.  It's a fun game, even though I was a smidge mad at the photographer :-)

First Snow of the Season

We all woke up to snow this morning.  It is October 5, 2012 and there is snow on the ground.  I really hope this isn't a sign of things to come!!

There was one person in the family who was a bit more excited about the snow than me.  That would be Gwen.  She had to put on all of her winter gear (hat, gloves, snow pants, boots, winter coat...etc) which was slight over-kill because there was less than an inch accumulation.

Her enthusiasm for snow makes me nervous because I am not the play-in-the-snow kind of gal, but it could be good for snowshoeing this winter!!

My Crazy Boy

On Monday September 3rd, baby Leo took his first steps!  I can't believe it!!  It's so wonderful to actually enjoy the "normal" process of being mobile.  Everyone keeps telling me that the craziness is about to begin.  I am not sure if they are aware of the craziness that is my little boy.

He has zero attention span.  Gwen could sit and watch TV or play with the iPhone for hours.  Leo can maybe do one thing for one minute.........tops.  He's constantly crawling around on the go.  It amazes me how fast and sneaky he is........he's my ninja.

When he sees the computer he automatically does all of his tricks.  He waves, claps, puts his hands to his eyes/head (peek-a-boo), he puts his hands to his ear to say "hello", and does his crazy smile (picture below).  I guess he figures he will be Skyping at any point in time.

When he is done eating he just throws all his food on the floor.  Gwen was a very neat eater and not much missed her mouth.  I wish Kaiser ate more human food off the floor.  Instead I bought a mat to put under his high chair.  Unfortunately he has a good arm and half the food misses the mat.  He doesn't just throw food.  He throws everything.

He is starting to babble a ton more and copying our actions.  He can be super sweet too. He gives the best hugs and now kisses via licking.  He is learning to blow kisses, but can't quite get it right.  It's part of his charm.

I just love my little boy.
